My First Trip

By Shyann Comrie

Ms. Green's 2rd grade art class was going on their first field trip of the year to a museum.

Kayla, a student in Ms. Green's class was very excited, she had never been to a museum before.

All the students in the class were told to bring a notebook to write down or draw anything that interest them  are at the museum.

The students arrived at the museum.  It was a big, tall, grey building with banners  hanging outside. There were lots of people sitting on the steps that lead into the museum. It was the biggest building Kayla had ever seen. There were many different rooms in the museum, these rooms are called galleries. Each gallery has a collection of similar artwork and artifacts.

Ms. Green told the class to pay attention,  as she introduced the curator.  “Class this is Mr. Hall he is one of the curators  in this museum, he will be giving us a tour of the museum today.”  Mr. Hall said "good morning class, I am one of the curators for this museum, today we are going to visit a few gallaries. If you have any questions please raise your hand. Everything in the museum is very precious and delicate, so you are not allowed to touch anything, ok. Now, lets explore this amazing museum. Mr. Hall walked with the class throw the museum. The class saw many galleries. He pointed on this and that and told the class stories about the artifacts in the museum.

One of the galleries we visited had a Egyptian Temple. The entire temple was inside of a gallery. The temple had tall brown colum's and markings on the outside. The markings told ancient stories about Egypt and the people who the temple beloned too.

The class saw soldiers  an horses in metal armor from England during the 16th century.

The last stop was a gallery with a large  statue of a big, white lion made out of marble stone. Everyone ooh and ahaaa at the lion.

Ms. Greens art class was so excited to return to school and share all of their favorite things about the trip to the museum.
