Ur Secret Escape

Hey this is the teenage life of 2012

and I really did try my best

to do what mama said,

but sometimes I'm in deep

and I can't seem to  surface

no matter what I try.

Show me Ur secret escape

Show me Ur back door

Show me Ur saving grace.

U see, I've gotten myself into one big mess

and at first I loved it, I must confess.

I've been hang'n around the wrong crowd

and it wouldn't make daddy proud.

Hey this is the 2012 teenager

Ready to proof myself

with bullets, the 40, and my bath salt.

My crunk crew has messed up my life

and I can't see a way out, so please...

I got down on my knees

Have mercy on me please.

I remember what my mom said

I remember what my daddy taught me.

God is the answer to my life crisis.

God is my escape

God is my back door

God is my saving grace.

Rugged Old Soul of Mine

Another day, another dollar

Another day to go through the pains.

I feel myself grow weaker.

like a rafflesia in a desert.

How can I stay strong,

With this rugged old soul of mine?

Work, school, home

there's a battle go'n on.

Wrinkled, worried and worn

How can I stay strong

With this rugged old soul of mine

I am as unique as an exotic flower

blooming in tropical gardens.

Yet, old at the age of 18,

I know I'm not the only one.

Withered by the things

which weigh heavy

on the heart and soul.

But it is time to let go

of this rugged old soul of mine.

Let Jesus take the wheel,

to help me feel, compassion,

joy and love.

Lord Save me, Lord Save me,

Lord save my rugged old soul. Amen

My Annoying Parents

Parents are boring

They are rather annoying

And embarrassing.

They give me good food

Get me out of my bad mood

And are always there.

Thank you Mighty God

For my annoying parents

Who I love so much.

Love, Lust and Marriage

Love has the power of an erupting volcanoe.

It can stretch high into the raptures

and ravage what lies below.

From the ashes of love comes lust.

It's power can be mistaken for love.

For it ascends from the Earth

as a dark cloud of untruth.

Lust can be adulterous and tainted

Lust can abuse the body and exploits love

leaving it feeling unworthy, unwanted

unloved and torn into pieces.

I know it is lustful

but my heart and body calls out for his embrace.

I know I should wait for the walk down the aisle

but Lord, my patience is bending

like the willow in the wind.

Oh Lord, help me to be the oak,

steadfast and true.

For true love leads to marriage

born of your grace.  Amen

The Power Within

I never knew how much power

I had within

Until the time came when

I had to leave my friends. 

They were partying with alcohol and drugs

but the power within told me I had to go.

He was verbally and physically abusive

but the power within told me I had to go.

I never knew how much power

I had within.

I am precious, more precious than gold

I am a diamond in the rough

ready to be polished and shined

for the whole world to behold.

I have talents untold

I see know what I should have seen before.

Present myself with dignity, faith, and pride

at let my power within shine.
