Our oceans are filled with wonderful sea life including creatures as well as plants!

The dolphin is a marine animal that usually travels in groups called "pods". Dolphins are very smart mammals and communicate through squeaking noises. They are usually friendly animals and eat fish. Dolphins can usually be spotted by their fins poking out of the water when they come up to breath.

Angel fish are very colorful fish found mainly in coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean. They are colorful so that they can blend in the plants on the reef to avoid being seen by predators.

The octopus is an animal that lives on the ocean floor and can also be found in reefs around the world! They are called octopus because they have 8 arms with suction cups that help them move along the ocean floor looking for food. They can be very colorful and some can even change their color to avoid being seen by enemies. An octopus can also squirt out a thick cloud of ink if it feels in danger and needs to hide or get away from an enemy.

A coral reef is an underwater habitat that supports life for thousands of different species of plants and animals. These reefs are usually found near shores and are very colorful. These reefs support hiding places for many fish and other animals that live there. They are called the “rainforests of the ocean” because they have so many different types of plants and animals living in them.
