Visual Poetry Project

This book is a collaboration between the Digital Art students of Kelly Bisogno and the Creative Writing classes of Allison Marchetti.  Creative writing students submitted their poems to the art students who illustrated one lines of text using real-life materials and environments that relate to the text.

Untitled

  By Misti

The speck that I am

incorporates smoothly in with

the ingredients that sit around me.

Buckled in, head tilted down-

Swafting in through the room

through the pores in the roof.

Why come, then, to my distance?

Why starve yourself with very,

quite very, blasts of intuition

or spectrum slices of blue...green?

It's only the beginning

of the setting in blindness.

Gravel

by Evin L.

The river is shallow,

  And yet it flows,

  Slowly stampeding across stones,

  Washing away their

  Diminished beings

The pebble is small,

  And yet so solid;

  Reduced from it's prior form,

But still a mountain in pride.

Found; Melancholy

by Savannah

It was 9:31 when I completed this sentence

something about not underlining Rubber Soul

You left me two to three hours

and I remained here

scripting, my hand fondly guiding the pen

across a looseleaf sheet of paper

in a crowd of pages.

Your appreciation was released upon

a hundred pages up

and I kept on writing

sipping frothy hot chocolate

and writing some more

only to cover this hidden page

for you to return to.
