The Swim Competition

By: Julie Ann Mstowski

One day Bailey decided that she wanted to be a swimmer.

Her parents were very concerned by this. "You can't even swim" says her parents.  "YES I can!!!" says Bailey.

Bailey decided to tryout for the YMCA swim team.  Her parents couldn't understand why she wanted to tryout all of a sudden.

The day came for her to tryout for the team, and she made it!! Her parents were in disbelief.  Bailey told her parents "I told you I could swim!!"

She swam her hardest every practice with all of her determination to be a great swimmer.

She swam, and she swam, and she swam.

Finally her first swim competition was here.  Her parents were so nervous for her.  She was excited, however.  Her parents said "We hope you do well in your competition and we will root for you no matter what!!!!"  That made Baileys day.

She swam her hardest, and her parents were very proud of her.  Each competition from here on out she kept improving her times.  Her parents could not believe it.  Bailey couldn't believe it either.

She swam in competitions every week and always got better and better.  Her parents said "We are sorry Bailey for not supporting your decision to become a swimmer in the beginning."  Bailey said "It's fine.  I love swimming and I am happy for you to watch me swim!!"

That was Baileys passion in life, and she kept swimming for years down the road.  Bailey and her family lived happily ever after.
