Two Dogs Who Like To Use Homophones...

This is a short book about dogs who use homophones. A homophone is a word that sounds like another word, but is spelled differently and means something different from that other word.

Each page of this book will include a pair of homophones. For example, at the top of this page, "two" describes how many dogs there are, and "to" is used to indicate the purpose of the story (using homophones).

Hi, my name is Bodhi, and this was me when I was a new puppy.  My dad knew when he saw me that we would be together forever.

Nobody knows for sure where I came from, but I have the nose and color of a Chocolate Labrador.

I was not very well behaved when I was little, so my dad gave me things like this knot of rope to chew on.

My paws were very big, and I liked to play all the time.  I did not like to pause to take a break.

As I got older, my dad would take me to the forest to run loose without a leash on.  He hoped I would lose some of my extra energy.

My parents also give me lots of toys for me to play with.  Sometimes I play with three or four toys.

Sometimes I get too rough with toys that aren’t made strong enough for me, and my mom says she feels like a maid cleaning up after me.

I usually behave when I’m outside, and I don’t dig or bury my toys.

(But sometimes I eat a ripe berry from the yard when my mom isn't looking).

Even though I am not allowed on any of the other furniture, I have heard my parents say aloud that I can sleep in this one special chair.

I also have a sister now, who looks like a bear.

She is very furry, and not one spot of her is bare.

During the day we have free reign over the yard, and we can do whatever we want.

Unless it is going to rainand then we stay inside so we don't get wet or muddy.

This life of ours is pretty great, and sometimes we just cuddle together for hours.

The End.
