The Funny Frog

By: Susan Shimek

Once upon a time there was a frog named Freddy.  Freddy liked to make everyone around him laugh.

Freddy liked to tell jokes.

Freddy liked to tell funny stories.  He also liked to play practical jokes on his friends.

One day he decided to pretend that he had fallen out of a tree.  When his friend Fran found him, she did not laugh!

Fran ran off to Freddy's house screaming, "HELP! HELP! HELP!"

Soon Freddy's Mother, Father, and Fran came running back to the tree.  Freddy was not there!

Freddy's Mother and Father looked at Fran and said, "That was NOT funny Fran!  You scared us.  We're going to call your mother!"

Fran began to cry.  Freddy who had been hiding up in the tree, hopped down.  He really felt terrible.  He had not meant for Fran to get in trouble.

Freddy told Fran he was sorry and told her he had to go home.

Freddy ran home and explained everything to his parents.  His parents were very upset with Freddy.  They told him that his joke was not funny and had upset a lot of people.

Freddy decided that from now on he would tell jokes and not try to trick people.
