The Life Cycle of a Butterfly

This book describes the life cycle of a butterfly, from the egg phase to full adulthood.

Butterflies first begin as an egg. The egg then hatches into a caterpillar, or larva.

Next, the caterpillar turns into a pupa . It attaches itself to a leaf, and changes again in the hard shell that it makes. In the shell, its wings start to develop. The caterpillar comes out of the pupa when it is a butterfly!

Butterflies drink nectar  from flowers as their source of food. They also have wings of different sizes and shapes, depending on the type of butterfly. Some butterflies even migrate, or move, to different places when the seasons change.
