Let's Grow

Meet our reading buddies, Monty the dog, and Susie the girl.

Let's learn how to grow flowers!

First, we have to dig a small hole in the ground.

Then, we drop the seed in to the hole and fill the hole in with dirt.

The seed will need lots of water to drink and lots of sunlight to help it grow.

The seed will begin to grow roots. The roots will grow deep in to the ground until they reach water so that the plant can always get a drink. The seed will also start to sprout out of the ground. This is the part of the flower we can see. It will start off small with only one or two leaves.

When you can see the pedals of a flower, it is blossoming. Before the flower begins to blossom, it forms buds. Buds are the small green bulbs you see at the tip of the plant.

This flower is begining to blossom. You can see its beautiful yellow and red pedals opening up after budding.

Finally after digging, planting, watering, sunlight, and growth the flower has fully bloomed.
