Dear Diary,
Well today I found out that dad is getting transferred again and this time to Los Angeles. It is six hours from New York that too by plane. For some reason though I don't get that sad feeling any more of moving and leaving my friends. Maybe it's because it's my eleventh time moving house ever since first grade. I don't really have any friends that I could say "keep in touch" because everytime I have started getting used to a new school I would have to start boxing my stuff and get ready to move to the next. Well anyways the only good thing I see about moving to L.A is that we'll be living there for about two and a half years. This is a surprise because my family and I have never even lived in one area for more than a couple of months. I guess another good thing is that I could actually complete twelvth grade and graduate from the same school! But anyways, twelveth grade will be the best.No matter what I have to do I will make it the best if I could.

The First Day
Elena Valentine is a sweet hearted girl who just wanted to have friends in school. The only thing was that she had moved ten times and now shes about to move to an eleventh time. Elena was determined to make her senior year as special as she could but then she found out that right before she was going to start her senior year she would have to move to another school.
Dear diary,
Today I am going to start my first day of twelvth grade, along with all the other senior students at North Wood High. Northwood High is a super fancy, high profile, rich kids school which makes the most famous future stars. The only reason I am getting into this school is because my mom got the job as the cafetaria lady .They are offering a good pay and she’ll be able to pay my school tution. Well gotta go eat breakfast.
When Elena reached school, all she saw was a crowded hallway full of different groups of people. There were the populars, the smarties, the technogeeks, the athletes, and the graceful voices. Elena had decided that she wanted to be a part of the the populars and maybe even the graceful singers. For a while Elena just wanted to observe eveyone in each group and see where she would be able to fit in. Elena picked up her schedule and headed for math. She walked into the classroom, took a seat and waited for people to start taking the seats around her. After a couple of minutes all the seats around her were taken and a couple of people noticed the new pretty girl with medium brown hair . The only thing was that Elena didn’t really know how pretty she was. After moving so much she just stopped trying to make friends and solialize as she knew that she wouldnt be able to keep in touch with them. Even though Elena’s family didn’t have too much money yet they had enough for Elena to spend on makeup, jewlery, and clothes.Her parents knew that because of all the moving Elena was not able to express herself completely in school. By the end of the day Elena had made a couple of good friends.

The Tryouts
September 11,2010
Well I made it through the first day of school yesterday. Some of the people are actually really nice. I thought that everyone would be showing off their cool gadgets and stuff but actually some of them are just like me. Especially this one girl, Kerri Bernstill. Kerri’s in all my classes and I also sat with her at lunch today cause she wanted to know more about me. She’s really pretty and she has shoulder length blond hair but shes not a typical girly girl. She plays the keyboard and shes really good at it. I just hope that soon I will be able to make it to the popular girls table but Kerri says that the girls are very bratty and its not worth it but I will try to become good friends with those girls.
The next day Elena went to school and heard on the announcements that they were holding drama tryouts.This years play would be special because there would be broadway agents coming and they would choose the best two performers and choose them to lead in a broadway play. Elena decided to tryout. She had tried out in the past but since she had to move she wasn’t able to perform in the play . So this year she decided that she would do her best if she got the lead.

The phone call and her secret
While Elena and Kerri were walking to science class they spotted a board which read, “ This year’s drama sign- up’s!”. Just before Elena and Kerri were about to head to the sign up board, Elena accidently bumped into the school’s football star, Jason Landers. Jason was every girl’s dream guy. He had dirty blond hair and ligh brown eyes. Jason picked up Elena’s book that had fallen when she bumped into him, and when he was about to to hand it to her he noticed she was new and he noticed how pretty she was.When both Jason and Elena had been staring at each other , Kristina Goldsmith walked right in between .Kristina was a bratty blonde who thought that she was the best at everything.Elena was just about to turn around in embarresment when she heard Jason call her name saying,
“ Wait, you forgot your book!’ ,
Elena turned around and grabbed and said “Thanks” and grabbed her book and walked away with Kerri. Kerri at that moment was giving a smirk to Elena and then said to her”I can see that you like Jason.”
Elena smiling back walked into her science class and took a seat in the back. At the end of the day Elena walked home with Kerri and decided to stay after the next day for drama tryouts.
The tryouts turned out in Elena’s favor. Elena had got the lead. She was ecstatic and couldn’t hold her enthusiasm. Her heart was dancing with pride and she was trying very hard to keep a calm demeanor. Kerri joined her in her happy moment. The drama practice kept Elena very busy and she found out that all her creative juices were getting a chance to express themselves.
But suddenly something very sinister started to happen. Elena started to get phone calls that gave her goosebumps . ‘I know your secret .” There was a long pause at the other end and after a minute the voice went on and threatened,” If you do the play I will tell everyone your secret.”

The Deciding Moment
Elena felt as if her brain had stopped working. She just could not think straight. Somehow she tried to regain some self control . Elena could not think of a single person that would threaten her. She then realised that she had to put up a brave front and not give up her ambition just because of some threats.
The play rehearsals were in full swing. Elena kept getting the phone calls. But she turned a deaf ear to all the calls. She was losing her heart to the most handsome guy who was playing her lead. Her days were hectic with school work and rehearsals. Soon the big day came and Elena faced the crowd with aplomb. The play was a success! The icing on the cake was when Elena got an offer from two directors from Broadway to come and join their new musical production team. Elena was ecstatic but she forgot one thing that would put a damper on her high spirits. Kristina stood up on a table and drew everyone’s attention.”Our dearest Elena is not what she says she is. Her mom and dad are not movie stars . They are just plain , regular folks. Her mom is our lunch lady and her dad is in the army.”Everyone looked at her and Elena with disbelief.“What ? You don’t believe me. She has written this in her diary.”
Elena walked out of the cafeteria in a hurry and tried avoiding the glances of every person. After going home Elena did a lot of introspection. She realised that by lying to everyone she had given them the power to judge her. At that point she made a strong decision.
The next day Elena walked into the hallway she got strange and accusing looks. At lunch, one of the her friends approached her and cast the same accusing look. ‘How could you lie to us like that?’
Elena turned around and faced all her new acquaintances. ‘I was new and I was trying very hard to fit in. But I do realise that I shouldn’t have lied. I am very sorry that I lied to you all. By the way, my parents are no less than movie stars. I am very proud of my mom as she works very hard and my dad is a hero who serves in the army,defends his country and country men.”
Elena stood tall and proud and she did not hunch her shoulders anymore. Kerri came forward and gave her a tight hug. Every one else stood up and cheered for her. Jason approached toward Elena and asked her out for a movie and dinner date. Elena smiled and replied”I would love to!”
