A re-telling of the story

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Originally written and illustrated by Eric Carle

Re-told by Christina Chapin

There once was a caterpillar who came from an egg. This caterpillar was very hungry.

Each day of the week the caterpillar ate more and more. He began by eating one apple on Monday, but by the time it reached Saturday the caterpillar ate ten different things.

The very hungry caterpillar ended up with a huge stomach ache because of all the food he ate. When he ate a nice green leaf, he felt better. Then the large caterpillar decided to build a cocoon and rest.

After two whole weeks in the cocoon, the very hungry caterpillar turned into a beautiful butterfly!
