Tundra lands are snow-covered for most of the year and the temperatures are between 10 and 20 degrees Farenheit .

Some animals that live in the Arctic tundra are polar bears, gray wolves, and muskoxen .

The ground is so frozen that there is a layer of permafost. Only very short shrubs and flowers can grow.  Big trees can't grow.
