The evolution of data storage device.
Can you predict what the text is about? There are so many inventions in this world. Every day, inventions and innovations improve life. An invention is not good to anyone if you can not share it. An example of an invention is a data storage device. A data storage device is a device/technology that can save/store data/information.
As year passed, inventions such as storage memory tool impacted business companies. One of technology tools involved storage memory data. IBM introduced floppy disk in 1967. Floppy disk was used to save data on a computer. But it developed problems such as dirt and it was also expensive. The inventors only target individual and small business. Then different companies tried to improve this invention by making it smaller, creating hard disk, different colors and more.
Since the invention was not affordable , people use more the cassette tape instead. The cassette tape was another invention form of a storage memory data. It was used to record audio and play back. Around the 1970s, it was used more for recording music.
Soon another change occurred, new memory storage was invented something better than a floppy disk or hard disk or cassette tape, came into existing the compact disk or CD. It was originally made for storing music. Then later on was adapted to store data as well. The CD was popular among all people. It include "write-once audio and data storage (CD-R), rewritable media (CD-RW), Video Compact Disc (VCD), Super Video Compact Disc (SVCD), Photo CD, PictureCD, CD-i, and Enhanced Music CD." So many options...
Similar to CDs, the DVDs are optical discs used to store digital data. Digital music and video files are stored on optical discs. It has more memory storage than a compact disc. DVD abbreviation stands for digital video disk. Invented by several companies in 1995. Famous companies that I am sure you heard of "Philips, Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic." These technology tools have impacted our life. We can store data, digital data, pictures, sounds/audio, music and more.
