A quadrilateral has four sides and four angles.



A trapezoid is a quadrilateral that has one set of parallel sides.



An isosceles trapezoid is a trapezoid with one pair of congruent, non-parallel sides.



A kite is a quadrilateral with one pair of congruent angles and two pairs of adjacent congruent sides.



A parallelogram is a quadrilateral whose opposite sides are parallel and congruent.  It also has opposite angles that are congruent.



A rectangle is a parallelogram with four right angles.



A rhombus is a parallelogram with four congruent sides.



A square can have two definitions.

A square can be a rectangle with four congruent sides.

A square can also be a rhombus with four right angles.
