Although Wikipedia can't be used as a direct source for research as it can be changed and edited by anyone, it can be a great starting point.  When a student is given a research assignment, instead of being overwhelmed by the vast size of the internet, they can always start to gain information from Wikipedia to see if a certain topic interests them.  This website can (and is) used to help help break down barriers for students who have a hard time and get overwhelmed doing research.  It gives them an avenue to spark interest and even leads them to stronger sources.

There are no age restrictions for Wikipedia.
