Description: Online photoslide maker that allows you to combine photos with music and effects.

Use in Education: Students could easily compile photos for a presentation to enhance learning about a specific topic. They could then use the photoslide either as a background to their speaking or a short video.

Reducing Barriers: The tool helps provide a VISUAL stimulus for visual learners and also reduces the amount of WRITING a student may have to produce. Afterall a picture speaks a thousand words (or so they say).

Age Requirements: None. Can also sign up using Facebook.

Description: Online voice recording maker that allows students to record a 30 second message with a computer mike.

Use in Education: There is no registration required which makes this an easy tool for all students to use. Most laptops have built in mikes now or computer mikes are not a huge expense. Students could record themselves saying a short phrase that could be included in a presentation.

Reducing Barriers: The tool helps those learners who may be nervous public speakers. It also provides an AUDITORY stimulus for those learners who respond to sounds. It also helps those who are not good writers. Instead of writing out what one might say in a presentation, they could record parts of it and play it for the class.

Age Requirements: None. No registration neccessary.

Description: Online interactive story writer. Makes it easy for students to create an adventure story where as someone is reading there are choices along the way.

Use in Education: Students can write stories online that are interactive. Doing so helps provide engagement. It could also possibly be used for planning an essay or making part of an essay interactive. It allows readers to make choices along the way. For example, at certain parts in the story the reader can choose to go one way or another.

Reducing Barriers: The tool provides a VISUAL stimulus (pictures can be added) while allowing students to convey their thoughts in a different format. It is somewhat KINESTHETIC as the student gets to choose how much interaction is needed while reading the story. It could be made very complicated which is engaging for those writers who are advanced.

Age Requirements: None. Sign-up with e-mail is however required.
