VOICE THREAD

Voice thread is a very good Web 2.0 tool through which students can make videos regarding a particular topic. It is very beneficial for people who are more confident with making videos or audio presentations than to write things out thus helpful for students with disabilities. This is a great tool for students who are more interested in speaking than in writing.

Here is the website where people can make an account

When students want to create a voicethread, users can attach any files, images or video clips in order to support their audio and could arrange these into a slide show. They could also include additional comments. Teachers can add comments to each slide and they can also make the voice thread public so that others could add their comments to the voicethread.

In its Basic terms of use it is stated that a person should be atleast 13 years or older to use it.

Using this 2.0 tool is very flexible. Students and teachers can use it anywhere. It can be used with students with disabilites, general students and anyone.  More info can be found here

TWITTER

Twitter is another great tool to get connected with people all over the world. Teachers and students can make accounts and follow tons of useful twitter accounts related to their course.

It is a very great web 2.0 tool. It has privacy setting for the tweets also people can share informative tweets on their pages.

Twitter is a great tool to eliminate barriers for students who like to learn through sharing and opinions rather than just reading off some materials. Students' learning through feedback is very important. Twitter is easily accessible and free so any student can make an account and use it for learning by following informative twitter accounts.

Students can share something by retweeting a particular informative tweet and can get feedbacks from the followers or anyone who have a twitter account.

From the new basic terms of use there is no age limit to make a twitter account and it is free to make it. Here is the link to their terms of use.

GOOGLE DOCS

Google docs is another great web 2.0 which allows students to share documents with other students or anyone they want their documents to be shared with, a single place for organizing all the documents. They can invite other people to view their documents and save the documents online.

Again google docs is also another important tools for students who want to do group discussions and it is easily accessible so people who do not go somewhere else physically to attend a meeting can also make any document and share it among their peers through google docs.

This video is so helpful in explaining how google docs work.

Another great article on google docs.

They can set their privacy settings according to who they want their documents to be accessible.

Students can also attach presentations and share it with their instructor.

The goggle account is free to create

There are certain age requirements may apply, more information can be found in the terms and services for google docs
