Table of Contents

1) Skype

2) Twitter

3) Diigo

Skype allows for parent teacher confrences online vs. face to face

Skype allows students to be tutored from their teachers if they need extra help

Skype allows students to participate in lectures if they are at home sick

As a preservice teacher I could use skype to help my high school students create an educational account to gain information from resources other than myself. I can teach them who is a reputable source to follow and who is not.

Twitter allows teachers to post meaningful articles and it gives students access to them easily

It allows for teachers to see what their students are doing on the interent

It allows teachers to recognize the interests of their children

It gives teachers a teaching opportunity to model how to be a cyber citizen and talk about appropriate teaching behaviours

Diigo allows teachers to mark assignments online and show students where they went wrong

Students can share information easily between themselves and teachers

Teachers can post resources and make them accessable to the students as they need them

Teachers can also hide things from their students that they do not want exposed yet
