The Talking Clouds
There once was a beautiful princess named Isabella. She had everything a young woman could want. One day, while frolicking around the castle garden a wise old man walked by the princess and said,
"Have you heard about the talking clouds? They are much grander than all you have here at the castle."
From that moment on, the princess thought long and hard about the talking clouds. The next morning, the princess awoke determined to find the talking clouds the old man spoke of.
She gathered her belongings and set off on her journey right away.
As the princess searched long and far to find the talking clouds, her mind wandered thinking about what she may discover.
After days of searching, the princess gave up her hope of ever find the talking clouds. When she turned to head back home, she heard a faint voice in the distance say,
"I knew you would find me."
The princess looked up to the sky with the biggest of smiles.
"Who are you?" asked princess Isabella.
"I am the son of the king of Spain," answered the clouds. "I was walking by the pond and stopped to bathe in it. At once, I fell under this enchanted spell."
The princess knew she had to do something to help free the boy.
"What can I do to save you from the spell?" asked the princess at once.
"Go and find the words to remove the spell and promise to marry me. Hurry, go quick! The witch is coming".
The princess hurried away retracing her steps from the castle. After days of searching for a way to remove the spell, the princess became tired and hopeless until she met a handsome young man. The princess told him her troubles and asked if he could help her.
The young man said, "I can only give the you power to remove the spell if you promise to marry me".
The princess responded, "I am sorry, I cannot marry you because I have already made my promise to someone else."
The young man understood and granted Isabella the power of enchantment anyways.
When the princess returned, she removed the spell from the talking clouds.
POOF! Her prince appeared at once and they went back to the castle to plan their wedding.
As the guests arrived, they said their hellos and took their seats. Soon guests were whispering and gossiping that the groom looked as if he were made of cotton, or white fluffy clouds. The guests accused him of not being human and the wedding was put to stop immediately.
The young man had tricked the princess and her groom by not removing the spell completly out of jealousy. The princess set off again to find the young man in the woods.
"Please young man, release the spell completely and I will give you riches and jewels." cried the princess.
"I will not release the spell and do not want your bribe. Please go!" demanded the young man.
The princess carried the bottle of potion the young man gave her that had a remining drop of magic in it. She threw it on the young man and he appeared cloud-like.
Princess Isabella went back to her prince and found that he was now a human and the spell had been broken. They were able to get married that day in front of the entire kingdom.
