Why Do We Learn to Count Money?

A brief and fun way to explain to students why it is important to learn how to count money.

Imagine a world with no money.

How would you get toys?

How would you get clothes?

How would you get food?

We have to have money to be able to survive.

Just having money isn't enough.

We have to know how to count that money that we have.

Once we learn to count our money, we can buy and spend it. However, if a person does not know how to count their money, then they will not know how to buy things.
