Diego the Dog

Hi!  I'm Diego the Dog!  Today I'll be showing you a few things to do when traveling to a different city!

I will be assisted by our coaches: Parker, Laura, and Marty.  Go ahead and click on each of them below to meet them!

Are you ready?  Let's begin!

Tip #1:  Pack light!  You will not need as much as you think you will when traveling!  Also, this way you will not have to haul a bunch of things around!  Make it easier on yourself!

One backpack is perfect!

Tip #2:  Be Respectful of Others' Space!  Often when we travel, we are around a lot of other people in small spaces.  Be sure to not take up more space or area than you need, in order to show courtesy to those around you.

A large crowd!

Traffic in London

Tip #3:  Pay Attention to Traffic!  Much of the time, in other countries, traffic rules will change.  For example, in England, cars drive on the left side of the road, instead of the right side like we do in our country.  Safety first!

No Need to Shout

Tip #4:  Watch the Volume of Your Voice.  There's no need to shout.  In many cultures, not being loud when speaking is a sign of respect.  This is even more important in small, quiet areas.

Tip #5:  Learn the Local Signs!  These signs are very important to learn since they will inform you about where to go, where there are places to eat, places to sleep, and more.  This way you won't need to stop and ask for directions all the time!

Road signs and cones

Police/Authorities

Tip #6:  Be safe!  Trust your gut.  If something seems or feels weird about a certain place or person, simply get away from there.  Know where the proper authorities are located and how to get in touch with them.  Be aware of your surroundings.
