The Little Caterpillar

Once there was a lonely egg lying on a leaf. He knew that it was time to wake and come up out of sleep.

He yawned and stretched and looked around, to see what was a new. To find that it was only he while others had all grew.

The caterpillar ate his weight in leaves which were so good. He tried so hard to catch on up and ate and ate his food.

Once he was so fat and round, he wanted to go sleep. He found himself a little nook to wrap up nice and neat.

He lay there in a chrysalis and slept for days on end. He knew that it was time to wake when he needed to unbend.

He broke apart his tiny pupa, and stretched his new found wings. Then tried to fly up in some loops to try and catch his friends.

They gathered in the air so high, to try and say hello, and ended bumping heads up there and laughing with a glow.

They had a grand old time together flying in the sky, and once the day turned into night, they went to sleep nearby.
