The Life Cycle of A Butterfly

By: Erin Hargrove

The butterfly starts it's life in a tiny, round, or oval structure called an egg.

The caterpillar hatches from the egg and spends almost all of it's time eating leaves and flowers.

Before becoming a butterfly, the caterpillar spins itself into a silk cacoon that hardens while they sleep.

After some time, a beautiful butterfly will emerge from the cocoon.
