The Robot Museum

Written by Tammy Moncel

Robots are machines designed to do a task.  Usually, robots are designed to automate a task.  There are many varieties of robots such as agriculture, medical, household, and industrial.  Robots live in the imaginations of people until technology can make them a reality.

Once upon a time, there were two boys named Walker and Thatcher who went to tour the local Robot Museum.  They had reserved their tour guide, Robot Roy, to show them around.  They couldn't wait to see what new robots were at the museum!  They had visions of the "Clean your room robot" and the "Wake you up robot" that they had seen before.  What could be better than that?

Walker and Thatcher gave their money to Robot Ruth who told them to "Have a great day!"  They knew they would, the Robot Museum was never a disappointment.  They couldn't believe their eyes when they entered the exhibit... there, in front of them, was an ice cream cone making robot!  Thatcher started to drool and Walker quickly wiped Thatcher's chin and grabbed his hand to get a closer look.  They could pick any flavor of ice cream, this was Robot Heaven!

Walker and Thatcher were so full after trying many flavors of ice cream.  Walker's favorite was the swiss army blend and Thatcher's favorite was the cereal cone.  They knew they needed to exercise, and the next robot gave them the opportunity!  The next robot was a musical robot that could play every song they could think of.  The more they danced, the louder the music became so they really boogied.  Thatcher was break dancing on the floor and Walker was jumping up and down.  They really got some exercise!

The museum was getting ready to close, but Walker and Thatcher couldn't pass up the "Paper Airplane Making Robot" exhibit.  They could design any kind of paper airplane on the computer and the robot would build it for them.  They were able to save tons of time by making designs while while the robot folded them.  They made several each and timed them in the air.  Walker's flew for 1.5 minutes!  Thatcher's flew for 1 minute!  That's a long time for paper to stay in the air!

Walker and Thatcher said goodbye to their old pal Robot Reggie before heading home.  Robot Reggie has been at the museum for as long as they can remember.  He always has a smile on his face and a print out of your visit.  It was a great trip and Walker and Thatcher are already looking forward to their next trip.
