On New Year’s Day 1772, Jefferson married Martha Wayles Skelton. They had six children together. Jefferson worked as a lawyer, legislator, govener, and vice president before he was president.

Thomas was the vice president for John Adams, the second president. Four years later, Thomas Jefferson was elected as the third president of the United States. He was elected for a second term as president.
