Twitter is a social networking tool that can be found at www.twitter.com. Twitter is also 2.0 web tool. The purpose for twitter is to connect to those around with you with similar interests. However when tweeting one must be concise because there is a limited amount of characters available.

Twitter can also be used for educational purposes. Students can actually connect to other students all around them, as well as Teachers. Teachers can connect to teachers of the same subject and they can share ways to teach similar material.

Students used to have to be only 13 years old to use twitter, however this has changed over time and now anyone can use twitter. Making it effective in the classroom.

Twitter is useful and has strengths in the classroom. In fact it can reduce barriers in the classroom. Students can connect to other students around the world and can gain in put about certain topics. Not only can students connect to other students, teachers can use it to post important information such as tests, due dates etc. Teachers can also post links to websites that students can access for more information.

Google docs is a way to share documents online. Students can access google docs at docs.google.com. Students are able to load and share presentations, images, and documents. When the document is shared and another student is on the document. Students are able to change and edit the document. A time is also stamped to the document that says who edited the document last and when. In the education field this is very exciting technology because students are able to share materials to teachers. Students are therefore, not wasting paper and building a healthier enviornment. The age of consent for the Google Docs is 13 years of age. Which is interesting since the Edmonton district school board used gmail account for its students. However with the consent of parent/gardian students can use the services. The edmonton district school board does have parents of the students sign a waiver to use technology at the school. Google Doc's can also help to reduce barriers in learners. Google Docs can help organize information. Student's are also able to use different functions such as google docs, powerpoint etc. Students are able to access information at home or at school for easy access. Students can also organize their information without the possibilty of loosing their information. Which is very useful in the classroom. Students don't have to go to their lockers to look for lost papers. Google Docs is a great tool for the classroom.

Prezi is a way to present a virtual presentation in a story board way. You can access twitter on www.prezi.com. Prezi is a fun and different way to present information.

Prezi is wonderful for educational purposes. Students are able to organize their ideas for presentation, notes, in a graphic organiser.

Prezi is a great for educational purposes, however in the terms of use it is stated that user's need to be over the age of 18 to use the prezi services. Due to all presentations being shared to the public.

Prezi is a great tool in the classroom, and Prezi can be used to reduce classroom barriers. Learner's are able to organize information in logical ways. This helps students to organize the information visually and to chunk information in a logical sense.
