Way up high
In the apple tree
Two little apples
Looking down at me.
I shook that tree
as hard as I could.
Down came the apples,
Yum, they were good!
I ate one apple
during the day.
The raccoon ate one apple
during the night.
Way up high
in the peach tree,
Two little peaches
Smiling down at me.
I shook that tree
as hard as I could.
Down came the peaches,
Yum, they were good!
I ate one peach
during the day.
The raccoon ate one peach
during the night.
Way up high
in the orange tree,
Two little oranges
trickled down on me.
I shook that tree
as hard as I could.
Down came the oranges,
Yum, they were good!
I ate one orange
during the day.
The raccoon ate one orange
during the night.

The science element of learning about the raccoon in this book could also be used as a simple way to introduce research about the mammal.
The CAST bookbuilder editor allows the author to implant audio and "extra" information into the pages of a book that can be printed or accessed digitally. The program can be navigated using switch interfaces, touchscreens, or the computer mouse/keyboard. The words in the text can also be highlighted to be read with a text-to-speech synthesizer. Individual words can also be highlighted to be translated into Spanish.
