Let's try something else. I'll design a new race course with two paths to the finish line.

Terry's Tips

Provide options that vary levels of challenge and support

The idea of providing multiple pathways that lead to the same goal is at the heart of UDL.  With multiple pathways, the goal is emphasized, not the methods or materials used to reach the goal.

The next two pages show different race courses. Discuss with students the advantages and disadvantages of each course. Extend the discussion by asking students for examples, especially in learning situations, where providing different pathways to a clear, consistent goal would improve chances for everyone to shine.
