A UDL Moral!

In the original fable, the Hare becomes distracted and forgets to keep racing, while the Tortoise plods steadily ahead to the finish line. The most commonly reported moral is, "Slow and steady wins the race." The Hare comes across as unreliable and flighty, and the Tortoise, though persistent, is slow.

In the UDL version of the story both animals are supported (by a path that works for them) and challenged (by the race itself), and both reach the goal together. Some UDL morals might be:

  • In a UDL race, everyone has a fair chance;
  • In a race that offers multiple paths, everyone can succeed
