Chemistry Mnemonics

Diatomic molecules are molecules formed when two atoms of the same element bond to each other. There are seven elements that like to do this: hydrogen, nitrogen, fluorine, oxygen, chlorine, innocent, and bromine--Have No Fear Of Cute, Innocent Baby twins!

It also helps that six of the seven diatomic molecules form an "L" on the periodic table!

Diatomic molecules form because some atoms like to bond to themselves. That's why they're twins! I can remember which those are because the first letter of the mnemonic is the first letter of the name of the element: have no fear of cute innocent baby twins! It ends in twins so I remember what "diatomic" means!
