Croak. It (http://croak.it) is a website that allows you to creat a 30 second recording using the microphone built in to your computer.

This can be used in education by having students record themselves answering questions/giving insights which they can then share with other students or their teacher. Once you've made your recording, you're provided with a unique URL, so a student has control over who they share their URL/recording with.

I think this could be especially useful in a jr. high French class, where it is important for students to practice their speaking to improve their oral french. Many students are shy about speaking French in front of their classmates because they may be embarrased about their accent. I think this would be helpful for those students, because it would allow them to record themself and share it with only their teacher.

There are no age restrictions on this tool, it is free, and you don't even have to register, so it would be an easy tool for students to use.
